FABxLive: July 27-31 2020

Register for the Conference and Join our Network

About Us

The FABXLive, this year's global Fab Lab Network conference,  is an online, distributed, FREE conference that gives us an opportunity to stay connected, reflect and engage deeply around Fab Lab and other community responses to COVID-19, the current state of the world and our vision for the future.

With more than 2000 Fab Labs in 126 countries worldwide, we will bring together members of the international Fab Lab Network, government representatives, the manufacturing industry, artists, teachers, academic researchers and experts in the field of digital fabrication, to present, envision, innovate, create community, disseminate best practices in digital fabrication and discuss solutions to our world's challenges during this unprecedented time in history.

Why You Should Join Us

Our new FABxLive member platform will allow us to share, contribute, promote and interact with each other leading up to and during the conference. We encourage you to register TODAY, update your profile and expertise in order to connect with others, live chat, participate, and more. Make sure to set your email notification preferences once you join!

If you have a strong regional network, we encourage you to apply to the conference with some great regional workshops and local activities!

A Big Thanks

The FABX conferences would not be possible without the full support of our sponsors and our growing Network. With the help of our sponsors, we are able to highlight incredible work happening around the world to increase social change and support each other in difficult times. Thank you to Chevron and Forest CNC!

What is FABX and Fab Labs?

Fab Lab is the educational outreach component of MIT’s Center for Bits and Atoms (CBA), an extension of its research into digital fabrication and computation. A Fab Lab is a technical prototyping platform for innovation and invention, providing stimulus for local entrepreneurship. A Fab Lab is also a platform for learning and innovation: a place to play, to create, to learn, to mentor, to invent. To be a Fab Lab means connecting to a global community of learners, educators, technologists, researchers, makers and innovators- -a knowledge sharing network that spans 100 countries and 24 time zones. Because all Fab Labs share common tools and processes, the program is building a global network, a distributed laboratory for research and invention.

Each year members of the more than 2,000 worldwide Fab Labs gather to share, discuss, collaborate and create communities around the different local and global interests regarding digital manufacturing, innovation and technology in the FABX conferences.

Is this event free?

Yes! Registration is free, and the only expense you may experience is purchasing a few materials locally for a hands on workshop you sign up for, but most materials will be things found around your house or at a grocery store!

FABxLive takes a team of experts and coordinators to make it a smooth and thoughtful experience for everyone. We made a point of making sure that this conference would be open to everyone and there would be no monetary barrier.  But the meeting does cost money to run. Please consider making a  contribution to help with the costs of  FABXLive.  We very much appreciate your kind donation, at any level.
